TTLock 101: All You Need to Know

1. What is TTLock?

TTlock is a smart lock brand that designs and develops hardware and software for smart locks. They use Bluetooth systems to manage smart locks, including smart hotel management, home security, and employee attendance systems. It is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Home.

You can unlock your smart door lock through the TTLock APP, send the electronic key to another TTLock account, and the recipient can unlock it through the TTLock APP. You can set the password or card usage time for the tenant, and the tenant can log in by himself. In addition, you can also view the unlock log in the smartphone app at any time.

Here are the main features of TTLock:

1) Send e-key

Sending e-keys allows you to share your eKey with people you choose! Just simply select the “Send e-Key” option and choose the type of e-key you want to share. Users can use options such as “Timed” and “Permanent”. Through these options, he can set a time limit for the electronic key.

2) Generate and send a password

You can generate an arbitrary password and send it to your friend. It makes sharing access easy and convenient.

3) Schedule Password

You can set a password that activates in a fixed pattern only for a certain period of time, it can be done by selecting the type of password you want, from fixed and timed passcodes.

4) Record

You’ll know who opened the lock and when it was opened, what unlocking method the person used, and more. These constant notifications allow you to constantly monitor activity on your digital door lock.

5) Transfer and Share Management

You can transfer admin privileges to whomever you choose at random, or another option called “Share Admin” allows you to share your admin privileges with specific people if needed.

6) Change existing password

You can modify the time period assigned to certain types of ciphers. This means that you can change the time-dependent specification of password-sharing access by simply selecting this option. Users should be well-versed in the features available in the application.

• In addition to smart locks, TTLock does not support any other smart home products.

3. How does TTLock work?

After research, TTLock provides you with four ways to open the door: mechanical key, password, mobile app, RFID card, and fingerprint. When you are at home, you can use mechanical keys, passwords, mobile apps, RFID cards, and fingerprints to open the door;

When you are away from home, you can send a code or use a mobile phone app (gateway-connected door lock) to unlock the door. This is loved because it allows people to enter your house even without a cell phone! Further, TTLock offers two products: one for residential properties and one for commercial properties.

If you use residential products in homes and apartments that are rented or owned by families or individuals. You can do business development in hotels, offices, and guesthouses. However, the commercial product works differently than the residential product; for example, instead of getting their app through this locking system, users access it through an administrator-managed website.

4. TTLock Hardware

Please note, that TTLock company doesn’t produce locks directly but provides PCBA and lock accessories. The smart lock manufacturer can produce TTLock-compatible smart locks with its PCBA and lock accessories. So if you are looking for some TTLock smart lock, you should ask the smart lock factory which PCBA or accessory are using for their locks. Different functions will need different TTLock hardware, check with your smart lock supplier.

1) PCBA

PCBA is the core module of smart lock, it will directly decide the function of your smart lock. TTLock provides 19 common PCBA and 9 customized PCBA, these modules can be used in most smart locks on the market. Here are the specifications:

TTlock accessories can be divided into 3 main types: Gateway, unlocking tools, and lock control tools. As the specifications are different between different accessories, it isn’t convenient to list in a form. Here we don’t list their specification, just list their functions. 5. TTLock Software

At present, there are 8 TTLock software on TTLock, TTLock App, Web console, TTHotel, TTRenting, Supplier System, Sciener Client, Lockology, and TTology. Every software has its unique function, here we introduce them one by one.

1) TTLock App

TTLock App is used to unlock your smart lock with your Phone. The TTlock App communicates with the lock through Bluetooth BLE to realize functions such as unlocking, locking, upgrading hardware, and reading operation records for you. The APP can manage all kinds of smart locks, including doors, parking lots, safes, bicycles, etc. Currently, the TTlock App is available in 3 languages: English, Spanish, and Chinese.

For the daily application, the TTLock app makes it easy to keep track of your locks and other security devices. Give friends or family access to your space with a simple share button, and you can revoke that access if necessary. With this function, TTLock smart locks are widely used in Airbnb, it is also the main lock that iLockcy recommends to our Airbnb customers to use. Now our TTLock smart lock for Airbnb has served over 100 clients in the world and received a lot of positive feedback.

Besides, the app also helps you control all the main functions of the lock. Unlike many other home automation apps, TTLock does not require a hub or subscription to use the available features. After you download the app, connect it to your lock using Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, and you’re ready to go!

Anyway, with the TTLock app, you can manage lock access and share temporary or permanent entries. Using the TTLock application is very simple, after installing and connecting to the lock on your device, you will see a list of all locks that have been added to the application.

2) Web console

TTLock web console allows you to manage your smart locks on the cloud system with 5 main functions. Here are the details:

• ekey management: Send, delete, block ekeys
• Passcode management: Generate passcode without lock connecting to the network
• Card management: Issue cards to specific locks
• Remote operation: Lock or unlock remotely via the gateway
• Admin management: Grant others to be the admin of locks
• Access logs export: Export access logs to Excel.

3) TTHotel

TTHotel is a smart hotel management system in the TTLock system, it is designed for both staff and guests. Here are the functions:

• Room status and type: Do check-in and check-out according to the room status
• Multiple unlock methods: 4 unlock methods are available for your hotel
• Reserved sectors: Reserve sectors for other purposes
• Lock clock management: Calibrate time with the app
• Unlocking records: Collect records with the app and look them up on the PC or APP
• Device management: Locks, card encoder, lift controller, card, gateway, power saver

4) TTRenting

TTRenting is an easy and functional long-term property management system for your rental. Here are the functions:

• Whole rental and sharing rental: Meet the requirement of management of different operating model
• Rental notification: Send notification to guests for the rental payment
• Manage Utilities: You can manage your utilities in your house, like water, electricity, gas
• Online contract: Sign contracts with guests online
• Fault report: Guests submit information about faults with the App
• Cloud system and mobile application: Manage your business on a cloud system or mobile application

5) Supplier system

The TTLock supplier system is used to manage hotel customers for lock manufacturers and distributors. There are 3 ways to help manage the hotels: Create a hotel account, Block a hotel account, and Unblock a hotel account. Here are the functions:

• Manage sub-distributors: Create accounts for sub-distributors, look up their hotels
  Restrict card purchasing: Restrict the hotel can only buy cards from you
• Encrypt and Decrypt cards: Encrypt or Decrypt the cards for hotels

6) Sciener Client

TTLock science client is used to review the sales of your locks and manage your users. Here are the functions:

• Lock list: View all locks you sold
• Customer list: View all your customers who buy your locks
• Statistics: View your sales of locks and increase in customers
• Block users: Block users from using software

7) Lockology

TTLock Lockology provides multi-level management, permission management, and cloud storage of operation records. Here are the functions:

• Clear And Visible Data: Data presentation through graphics and text
• Easy And Effortless Management: Divide personnel into departments and roles to achieve permission management
• Convenient And Efficient Work: Online lock opening and closing operations

8) TTology

TTology is used for efficient hierarchical management leading to a new height of productivity liberation. At present, this is a new product, and TTLock doesn’t provide enough information. iLockey will keep updating when there is any update.

6. How to Setup TTlock?

A TTLock account can manage multiple smart locks, and TTLock can work with all Smart DL and SDL locks. Here we will guide you step by step to set up TTLock.

1) Download the App

You need to download the TTLock App on your mobile phone, Here is the download link, choose what you need:

• Click here to open the application on an Apple device.
• Click here to open the application on an Android device.

You can also download it from the Apple Store, TTLock App currently supports both Android and iOS operating systems. Please make sure your phone has enough space to access all APP features.

2) Login to the TTLock Account

You will need a TTLock account to manage the lock, If you are the first time to use TTLock, you need to register a new user account. If you already have an account, you can log in directly with your account credentials.

Note:

• Please enable Bluetooth on your mobile phone before continuing.
• All operations should be done within a one-meter radius of the lock.

3) Adding Your Smart Lock to the TTLock App

Before you add a lock, make sure it is compatible with TTLock App. If you are not sure, please ask your TTLock smart lock supplier. Besides, please read the following notice before starting the operation.

Note:

• The default password of TTLock is 123456.
• After you complete this step, you will be the lock’s Bluetooth administrator. However, a given lock can only have one Bluetooth administrator, so you should make sure you have set the right administerator.
• With administrator privileges, you can add more users, but Bluetooth administrator has the highest privilege level.
• If you want to remove the Bluetooth admin, you can use “Factory Reset” function. You can see the guide in the user manual.

Everything is ok, now, let’s start adding the lock.

First, tap the ‘Press to Add Lock’ button on the following image. Then, tap the ‘All Locks’ button.

Important:

• Make sure your smart Lock is active (or the keypad is lit). If not, touch or slide your finger across the keyboard until it lights up.

At this point, the TTLock app will scan for nearby locks, and once you find a lock, tap the “+” button next to the correct lock.

Next, you can enter a lock name. For example. iLockey Room 1

If successful, you will be taken to the home page of the new lock. The lock is now added to your account and ready to be configured.

7. How to Create new users on TTLock

TTLock allows their users to enter the room by password, IC card/key fob, fingerprint, and e-key. According to the type of electronic key, you can set a user for basic or administrative access to the lock. You can change or delete users as many times as you want. Here will show you how to add new users on TTLock, it includes configuring new passwords, IC cards/fobs, and fingerprints; creating and sending electronic keys; and creating authorized administrators. Let’s start:

1) Set a password

TTLock provides various types of passwords, like permanent, time-limited, one-time, repeating, etc. You can create any type of password based on each user’s access requirements. Additionally, you can generate random passwords or custom passwords with 4 to 9 digits long.

• In the homepage options, click “Generate Password”.
• Select the type of password you want to create through the navigation tabs.
• Enter a password name; validity period (if required); and password (if generating a “custom” password).
• Click the “Set Password” button to create a new password.

2) Register IC card/key fob

A key card or fob can also be activated to unlock your smart door lock. You can choose to configure a 13.56 MHz IC card or key fob according to your needs. The same card/key fob can be registered on multiple locks.

NOTE: This operation must be performed near the lock.

• Tap “Cards” on the locked home screen.
• Select Add Card from the context menu in the upper right corner of the screen.
• Select the type of card (i.e. permanent or timed) you want to enroll in via the navigation tabs.
• Enter the card or key fob details and period of validity (if required) and tap ‘OK’.
• Touch the card/fob to the exterior lock panel card/fob reader area (on the keypad)

You also have the option to register the card/key fob remotely (away from the lock) by selecting “Remotely add card”, and then tapping the card on the phone.

3) Register fingerprints

Fingerprint access is a key-unlocking method of smart door locks, you can register a fingerprint by following the steps:

• Tap “Fingerprint” on the locked home screen.
• Select Add Fingerprint from the context menu.
• Enter fingerprint details and a valid time period (if required), then click Next.

NOTE: You should operate near the lock.

•  Click the “Start” button and start the fingerprint scanning process.
•  Follow the instructions on the screen. You will need to place your finger on and off the sensor four times.

Tips: You can register multiple fingerprints for the same user in different finger positions and with different fingers.

4. Send e-key

E-key allows the user to access the door either near the lock or remotely using a phone app via Bluetooth. You can send e-keys to your users to grant the app access to the lock. Here is the guide to send e-key:

• Tap “Send e-Key” on the home screen of the lock.
• Select the electronic key type (i.e. timed, permanent, one-time, repeating) via the navigation tabs.
• Enter the recipient’s TTlock account username and name and valid time period (if required).
• If necessary, you can choose to allow the “Remote Unlock” function.
• Click “Send”.

NOTE: Recipients must have the TTLock app installed and registered with TTLock before receiving the e-key.

Recipients will be notified on the TTLock app when the electronic key has been sent. You also have the option to email recipients with electronic key information. E-key recipients will have access to simple settings and simple records showing when the lock was accessed, but not by whom.

5. Send authorized administrator electronic key

If you like, you can also make someone an authorized administrator of a lock, it will allow them to access the app to the lock. You can allow them in through the app via Bluetooth near the lock or remotely (if you selected “Remote Unlock” when creating the electronic key). They can also gain access to other areas of the app that the recipient of the basic e-key does not, including the ability to add other users. Here is the steps to send the authorized administrator electronic key:

• Tap “Authorize administrator” on the locked home screen.
• Click on the authorized administrator menu in the upper right corner of the screen, then click “Create Administrator”.
• Select Manage Electronic Key Type (i.e. Timed, Permanent) via the Navigation tab.
• Enter the recipient’s TTlock account username and name and valid time period (if required).
• If necessary, you can choose to allow the “Remote Unlock” function.
• Click “Send”.

NOTE: Recipients must have the TTLock app installed and registered with TTLock before receiving the electronic key.

Recipients will be notified on the TTLock app when the electronic key has been sent. You also have the option to email recipients with electronic key information.

• Install the Google Home APP and Hub on your mobile phone
• Click the “+” add button in the upper left corner of the app
• On the Set Up Device page, select “Work with Google” on the Manage Account page.
• On the authorization page, search for “ScienerSmart” and enter your TTLock account.
• Set up Google Home security code in TTLock APP. When unlocking Google Home with this code, you will be prompted to enter it.

2)  How to connect TTLlock to WIFI?

TTLock connects to WIFI via the gateway,  now gateway 2 is the main tool. To set the Gateway 2, you can also find some video tutorials on YouTube. Here we make G2 as a sample, to make a brief word guide to help you connect TTLock to WIFI.

• Open TTLock App –>Click the side menu –>Select Gateway -> Tap ‘+’ –> Select G2
• Plug the gateway into a USB power source. You should make sure the light flashes red and blue alternately.
• Then, back in the app, tap the “+” next to the discovered gateway.
• Select the correct “Wi-Fi Name”. Make sure this is your 2.4GHz network.
• Enter the Wi-Fi Password for the selected network.
• Enter a “Gateway Name” to identify your gateway (e.g. “Primary Gateway”)
• Click OK. It takes about a few minutes to complete the setup.
• Once the gateway is configured, it will automatically search for nearby locks. Please note, that your smart door lock should be within Bluetooth range (3-7 meters) of this Wi-Fi Gateway. If not, you’ll have to move the Wi-Fi gateway closer to the smart door lock.

4) How to add TTLock to Amazon Alexa?

Amazon Alexa allows you to control your smart lock with your voice, so this guide will include two sections, connect TTLock to Alexa, and set Voice Unlocking. Let’s start:

1) Connect the TTLock account to Amazon Alexa

• Sign in to your Amazon Alexa app
• Go to “Skills and Games”
• Search for “TTLock”
• Click “Enable to use”
• Enter your TTLock account username and password

2) Control your smart door lock with your voice

• Go to “Devices” –>Go to “Locks”
• Select the smart door lock you want to control. Let’s say your lock’s name is “Front Door”.
